1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, and to provide information to the site operator. Cookies can be "first-party" (set by the website you are visiting) or "third-party" (set by a service other than the one you are on).

Related technologies such as local storage, session storage, and pixel tags work similarly. This policy covers all such technologies used on https://neuralboot.com/trapetum.

Cookies can be classified by duration:

They can also be classified by purpose:

2. Our Approach to Consent

When you arrive on the site, you are presented with a consent banner that explains the cookies we use and asks for your choice. Your preference is stored in the nb_consent cookie for 12 months so we do not ask again on every visit. You may change your preference at any time using the Your Privacy Choices link in the footer.

4. Third-Party Cookies

The analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*) are set by Google LLC when you grant consent. Google's own privacy policy governs how Google uses this data. You can review it at policies.google.com/privacy. Google Analytics data is processed in the United States under Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where applicable.

We load Google Analytics through Google Tag Manager (GTM-M8VLW9HR). The GTM container itself does not set cookies; it only loads the GA4 script once consent is granted.

No other third-party scripts or pixels are loaded on this site. There are no advertising networks, social sharing buttons, or embedded content from other domains.

5. Managing and Withdrawing Consent

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the Your Privacy Choices control linked in the footer of every page on this site. Clicking it opens our consent management interface where you can grant or revoke consent for analytics cookies.

When you withdraw consent:

If you wish to delete your historical analytics data from Google's systems, you can use the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or adjust your settings in your Google account at myaccount.google.com/data-and-privacy.

6. Browser-Level Cookie Controls

In addition to the consent control on this site, you can manage cookies directly through your browser settings. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the site from functioning correctly.

  • Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data
  • Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Cookies and site data
  • Opera: Settings > Advanced > Privacy & security > Site Settings > Cookies

You can also opt out of Google Analytics across all sites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

For more information about cookies generally and how to manage them, visit allaboutcookies.org or youronlinechoices.com.

7. Jurisdiction-Specific Notes

EU / EEA: ePrivacy Directive and GDPR

Under the ePrivacy Directive (as implemented in national law across EU member states) and the GDPR, placing non-essential cookies requires prior, freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous consent. We obtain this consent through our consent banner before any analytics cookie is placed. You have the right to withdraw consent at any time (see Section 5). Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent under the ePrivacy Directive.

United Kingdom: UK PECR and UK GDPR

The UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) impose equivalent requirements to the ePrivacy Directive. Our consent-first approach satisfies PECR. If you are in the UK and have concerns about our use of cookies, you may contact the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

California: CCPA / CPRA

Analytics cookies may be considered "personal information" under the CCPA / CPRA. We do not sell or share personal information, including cookie-derived data, for cross-context behavioural advertising. You may signal your privacy preferences using the Your Privacy Choices control, which also serves as a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" signal.

Canada (Quebec and Federal)

Under Quebec's Law 25 and federal PIPEDA, non-essential cookies require meaningful prior consent. Our consent-first approach satisfies these requirements. You may withdraw consent at any time as described in Section 5.

Japan: APPI

Where analytics cookies involve transfer of data to Google in the United States, such transfers occur only after you consent. Consent may be withdrawn at any time using the Your Privacy Choices control.

8. Children

This site is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly use cookies to collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this site, please contact us at privacy@neuralboot.com.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when we change the cookies we use, add new services, or when regulations change. The effective date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was last updated. Material changes will be signalled by updating that date and, where appropriate, re-presenting the consent banner so you can review and re-confirm your choices.
